BurdaStyle: cowl dress

The holiday sewing season is over. Now is the perfect time to get back to sewing nice casual winter dresses. This Burda Style cowl dress 10/2012 #118 is my favorite winter one.
I should confess... I don't drive a car. Which means that I can't really wear whatever I want when it's cold. I always need a hat, warm tights and a very warm long coat. I don't wear trousers, so my dresses should be warm enough too. And extra warm for especially cold days.

When I saw this fabric I immediately decided to buy it. It's a 100% Italian wool, so warm and cozy. I didn't want to sew a simple pencil dress with it. The less seams or darts, the better. And Burda Style Cowl Dress pattern was the best choice!

This pattern was so easy to work with. I even didn't need to do a lot of alteration. And I'm so happy with the result! I'll definitely sew another dress using this pattern.

It's one of my favorite winter dresses. It's cozy, extremely warm, comfortable and elegant at the same time. Such a great combination of good things, isn't it?

Do you sew winter dresses or do you wear your regular clothes all year around?
